$ibohN * and ↓ $abahN are syn., (S, Msb, K,) like mivolN and mavalN , and bidolN and badalN , and nikolN and nakalN , the only other instances of the kind, i. e. of words of both these measures, that have been heard, having the same meaning, (S and TA in art. bdl ,) i. q. ↓ $abiyhN , (S, Msb, K,) syn. mivolN , (K,) [i. e.] A like; a similar person or thing; (MA; Msb;) [ an analogue; a match; ] a fellow: (MA:) pl. (of all, TA) A^a$obaAhN . (K, TA.) One says, h`*aA $ibohuhu [and ↓ $abahuhu ], i. e. ↓ $abiyhuhu [meaning This is the like, &c., of him, or it ]. (S.) And fulaAnN $ibohuka and ↓ $abahuka and ↓ $abiyhuka [ Such a one is the like, &c., of thee ]. (JK.) [And ↓ bihi This is like him, or it. $abahN * : see the next preceding paragraph, in three places. ― -b2- [Hence,] syn. with $akolN [signifying A likeness, resemblance, or semblance, as meaning something resembling ]; (AA, K and TA in art. $kl ;) and ↓ $ubohapN is syn. with mivolN [ in the same sense ]: (K in the present art.: [see exs. of the latter voce EuqorN :]) pl. of the former [in this sense, as is indicated in the S,] ↓ ma$aAbihu , contr. to rule, like maHaAsinu and ma*aAkiyru ; (S, TA;) or this is a pl. having no proper sing. (TA.) One says, bayonahumaA $abahN [ Between them two is a likeness, &c.]. (S,) And nazaEa A_ilaY A^abiyhi fiY Al$~abahi [ He inclined to his father in likeness ]. (S, in art. nzE .) And a poet cited by IAar says, A^aSobaHa fiyhi $abahN mino A^um~ihi mino EiZami Alr~aA^osi wamino xuroTum~ihi [ He became so that there was in him a resemblance of his mother, in respect of bigness of the head, and of his nose ]. (TA.) And one says also, lahu ↓ bihi $ubohapN i. e. mivolN [ In him is a likeness, or something having a likeness, to him, or it ]. (TK.) ― -b3- Also, (JK, S, Msb, K, &c.,) and ↓ $ibohN , (JK, S, K,) and ↓ $abahaAnN , (K, TA, but not in the CK,) [ A sort of fine brass; ] a metal resembling gold in its colour, the highest in quality of Sufor [or brass ]; (Msb;) yellow nuHaAs ; (K;) a sort of nuHaAs (JK, T, S, M *) rendered yellow by the addition of an alloy (lit. a medicament ): (T, M, * TA:) so called because resembling gold in its colour: (M, TA:) pl.
