(Msb.) You say, A^anaA bariYo'N minohu [ I am free from it, &c.]; (T, * S, M, K; *) and ↓ baraA='N , used alike as sing. and dual and pl. (Fr, T, S, M, K) and masc. and fem., (Fr, T, M, K,) because it is originally an inf. n.; (Fr, T, S;) and ↓ buraA='N : (S, M:) the pl. of bariYo'N is bariyw^uwna (T, S, K) and buraA^'u (T, S, M, K) and buraA='N , (T, M, K,) of the measure fuEaAlN , (T,) like ruxaAlN , (M, K,) of an extr. measure, disapproved by Suh, who says, in the R, that it is a contraction of buraA^'u , and has tenween because it resembles [words originally of the measure] fuEaAlN , and that the rel. n. formed from it is ↓ buraAwiY~N , (TA,) but it is mentioned by AAF as a pl. of bariYo'N , and as being like ruxaAlN , and Fr mentions buraA='u as a pl. of the same, imperfectly decl., with one of the two hemzehs suppressed, (M,) and biraA='N (S, M, K) and A^aboraA='N (S, K) and A^aboriy^aA='u , (T, S, K,) the last two anomalous: (TA:) the fem. of bariyo'N is bariyoy^apN ; pl. bariyoA=tN (T, S, M, K) and bariy~aAtN (Lh, M, K) and baraAyaA . (T, S, M, K.) You say, A^anaA bariYo'N minohu and xaliY~N minohu [ I am free from it; or, more commonly, I am clear, or quit, of it, or him ]; and minohu ↓ A^naA baraA='N and xalaA='N minohu ; (S;) and minohu ↓ A^anaA AlbaraA='u : (M:) and ↓ naHonu minoka AlbaraA='u and AlxalaA='u [ We are clear, or quit, of you ]; (Fr, T;) i. e., *awuw AlbaraA='i : so says Aboo-Is-hák; and As says the like of what Fr says. (T.) It is said in the Kur [xliii. 25], mim~aA taEobuduwna ↓ A_in~aniY baraA='N [ Verily I am clear of that which ye worship ]; (T, M;) or bariYo'N , or ↓ buraA='N ; accord. to different readers. (Bd.) bariYo'N occurs in several places in the Kur. (M.) Accord. to IAar, it signifies Clear of evil qualities or dispositions; shunning what is vain and false; remote from actions that occasion suspicion; pure in heart from associating any with God: and it signifies sound in body and intellect.
