1 Eadala * , (S, O, Msb, K,) aor. Eadila , (Msb, K,) inf. n. EadolN (S, * O, * Msb, K, * TA) and maEodilapN (S, * O, * Msb, K *) and maEodalapN (S, * Msb, K *) and EadaAlapN and EuduwlapN , (K, * TK,) He acted equitably, justly, or rightly. (S, O, Msb, K.) So in the phrase Eadala fiY A^amorihi , [ He acted equitably, &c., in his affair, ] inf. n. EadolN . (Msb.) And so in the phrase Eadala Ealayohi fiY AlqaDiy~api [ He acted equitably, &c., towards him in the judgment ]: (S, O:) and Eadala EalaY Alqawomi , [ he acted equitably, &c., towards the people, or party, ] inf. n. EadolN and maEodilapN and maEodalapN . (Msb.) lano tasotaTiyEuwA A^ano taEodiluwA bayona Aln~isaA='i , [ Ye will not be able to act with perfect equity between women ], in the Kur [iv. 128], is said to mean, in respect of love, and of jimaAE . (TA.) [See also EadolN below.] ― -b2- waA_ino taEodilo kul~a EadolK , in the Kur [vi. 69], means And if it would ransom with every [degree of] ransoming: (T, S, O, Msb, TA:) AO used to say, and if it would act equitably with every [degree of] equitable acting; but Az says that this is a blunder. (TA.) [See, again, EadolN below.] ― -b3- [ Eadala signifies also He declined, deviated, or turned aside or away; and particularly from the right course: thus having a meaning nearly agreeing with that assigned to Eadila in the last sentence of this paragraph.] balo humo qawomN yaEodiluwna , in the Kur [xxvii. 61], means [ Nay but they are a people ] who decline, or deviate, from the truth, and from the right course; i. e., who disbelieve. (O.) And one says, Eadala Eanohu , aor. Eadila , inf. n. EadolN and [more com- monly] EuduwlN , He declined, deviated, or turned aside or away, from him, or it. (K.) And Eadala Eani AlT~ariyqi , (S, O, Msb,) inf. n. EuduwlN , (Msb,) He declined, &c., from the road, or way; (S, O, Msb;) as also Eanohu ↓ AnEdl . (S, O, K. *) And Eadala AlT~ariyqu The road declined, or deflected. (K.) And Eadala AlfaHolu (S, O, K) Eani AlA_ibili (S, O) The stallion left, left off, or desisted from, covering the she-camels; (S, O, K; *) and so Eani AlD~iraAbi ↓ AnEdl . (TA.) [ Eadala AlfaHola see in what follows.] And Eadala A_ilayohi , inf. n. EuduwlN , He returned to him, or it. (K.) -A2- Eadalahu : see 2, in two places. ― -b2- Eadala fulaAnFA bifulaAnK He made such a one to be equal, or like, to such a one; (K;) [and] so bh ↓ EAdlhu : (S:) or, accord. to some, AlEadolu signifies the rating a thing as equal to a thing of another kind so as to make it like the latter. (TA.) One says, Eadalotu h`*aA bih`*aA I made this to be like and to stand in the stead of, this. (Msb.) And Eadala birab~ihi , (El-Ahmar, TA,) aor. Eadila , (S, O, TA,) inf. n. EadolN and EuduwlN , [ gayorahu being understood,] He made another to be equal with his Lord, and worshipped him. (El-Ahmar, TA.) birab~ihimo yaEodiluwna , in the Kur [vi. 151, and accord. to some in vi. 1], means Attributing a copartner, or copartners, to their Lord. (O. [And the like is said in the S and Msb and TA.]) ― -b3- Eadalotu A^amotiEapa Albayoti I made the goods, or furniture, of the house, or tent, into equal loads, [ so as to counterbalance one another, ] on the day of departure, or removal. (TA.) And bayona Al$~ayoy^ayoni ↓ EaAdala (S, O, TA) He made an equiponderance to subsist between the two things. (TA.) ― -b4- fulaAnN yaEodilu fulaAnFA Such a one is equal to such a one. (TA.) And yaEodiluhu He, or it, is like him, or it. (Fr, S, O.) [Hence] one says, maA yaEodiluka EinodanaA $aYo'N Nothing stands with us in thy stead. (TA.) And Eadalahu , aor. Eadila , (K,) inf. n. EadolN , (TA,) It was, or became, equiponderant to it; as also ↓ EAdlhu , (K,) inf. n. muEaAdalapN . (TA.) And [hence] Eadalahu fiY AlmaHomili , (K,) and ↓ EAdlhu , (TA,) He rode with him in the [ vehicle called ] mHml [ so as to counterbalance him ]. (K, TA.) ― -b5- And Eadala , aor. Eadila , inf. n. EadolN , signifies also He turned a thing from its course, direction, or manner of being. (TA.)
