EulowN * and ↓ EilowN (S, Msb, K) and ↓ EalowN (K) signify The higher, or highest, part (S, Msb, K) of a house, or an abode, (S, Msb,) or of a thing; (K;) as also ↓ EilowapN (K voce sufolN ) and ↓ EulaAwapN and ↓ EaAliyapN . (K in the present art.) You say, qaEadotu Eulowahu and ↓ Eilowahu and fiY Eulowihi and ↓ fY Eilowihi [i. e. I sat in the higher, or highest, part of it ]. (TA.) And Aashà-Báhileh says, A_in~iY A^atanoniY lisaAnN laA A^usar~u bihaA laA EajabN minohaA walaA suxuru ↓ mino Ealowa (S,) or, as in one of my copies of the S, A^asur~u and saxaru ,) i. e. Verily information has come to me [ by which I shall not be rejoiced (or by which I shall not rejoice others, accord. to the latter reading mentioned above,)] from the higher, or highest, parts of Nejd, ( mino A^aEolaY najodK , thus in some copies of the S and in the TA, but in other copies of the S the word najodK is omitted,) [ at which there is no wondering, as at a thing that is improbable, nor any scoffing; ] related [thus] with fet-h to the w and with damm thereto and with kesr thereto [i. e. Ealowa as above and also ↓ Ealowu and ↓ Ealowi ]. (S, TA.) ― -b2- One says also, h`*aA $iEoru Eulow [app. EulowK ], meaning (assumed tropical:) This is poetry of a high class: or [the last word may be ↓ Ealowa or Ealowu or Ealowi , for it may mean], of the higher, or highest, part of Nejd.
