1. حَاقٌّ
HaAq~N HAq i. q. SaAdiqN [as used in the phrase SaAdiqu AlHalaAwapi and SaAdiqu AlHamolapi , &c.: see art. Sdq ]: so in the phrase HaAq~N AljuwEi [ Vehement hunger ]: (K:) occurring in a trad. of Aboo-Bekr: but accord. to one reading, it is HaAqu AljuwEi , without teshdeed to the q , from HaAqa bihi AlbalaA='u , inf. n. HayoqN and HaAqN , “ trial, or trouble, beset him; ” and means the besetting of hunger: or it may mean HaAy^iqu AljuwEi [ besetting hunger ]. (TA.) One says also, rajulN HaAq~u Alr~ajuli and Alr~ajuli ↓ HaAq~apu A man perfect in manliness: and HaAq~u Al$~ujaAEi and ↓ HaAq~apu Al$~ujaAEi perfect in courage. (K, * TA.) And Az relates that he heard an Arab of the desert say, of a mark of mange, or scab, that appeared upon a camel, h`*aA HaAq~u SumaAdiHi Aljarabi [ This is a most sure, or a truth-telling, evidence of genuine mange, or scab ]. (TA.) -A2- Also The middle of the head; (S, K;) as also ↓ Haq~N : (K:) and of the back of the neck; as also ↓ Huq~N : (TA: [thus the latter is there written, in this instance, with damm:]) and of the eye: (TA:) and of a road: (K, * TA:) and of winter. (S.) One says, saqaTa EalaY HaAq~i raA^osihi (S, K) and rA^sh ↓ Haq~i (K) He fell upon the middle of his head: (S, K:) and ElY HaAq~i AlqafaA and AlqfA ↓ Huq~i upon the middle of the back of the neck. (TA.) And A^aSaAba HaAq~a Eayonihi He, or it, hit the middle of his eye. (TA.) And rakiba HaAq~a AlT~ariyqi He went upon the middle of the road. (K, * TA.) And jiy^otuhu fiY HaAq~i Al$~itaA='i I came to him in the middle of winter. (S.) And laqiytuhu mino HaAq~i Almasojidi : see Huq~N . ― -b2- huwa fiY HaAq~K mino ka*aA He is in straitness by reason of such a thing. (TA.)
