HaqiyqN Hqyq Adapted, disposed, apt, meet, suited, suitable, fitted, fit, proper, competent, or worthy; syn. xaliyqN , (Sh, S, Mgh, Msb, K,) and jadiyrN ; (K;) as also ↓ Haq~N , (Ibn- 'Abbád, K,) and [some say] ↓ maHoquwqN : (Sh, S, Mgh, K:) HaqiyqN is said to be of the measure faEiylN in the sense of the measure mafoEuwlN ; but accord. to the A, it is not so, because its fem. is with p ; but is from the supposed verb Haquqa , and is like xaliyqN from xaluqa , and jadiyrN from jadura : and ↓ maHoquwqN signifies [properly] rendered adapted &c.: (TA:) the pl. of Hqyq is A^aHiq~aA='u ; and that of ↓ mHqwq is maHoquwquwna . (S.) You say, huwa HaqiyqN bihi (Sh, S, Msb, K) and bh ↓ maHoquwqN (Sh, S, K) and bh ↓ Haq~N (Ibn-'Abbád, K) [ He is adapted, &c., for it; or worthy of it ]. And to a woman, A^anota HaqiyqapN bika*aA (A, TA) and HaqiyqapN li*`lika and li*`lika ↓ maHoquwqapN [ Thou art adapted, &c., for such a thing and for that thing; or worthy of it ]. (TA.) And A^anota HaqiyqN biA^ano tafoEala (A, Mgh) and ↓ maHoquwqN (A) [ Thou art adapted, &c., for thy doing such a thing; or worthy of doing it]. And huwa HaqiyqN A^ano yafoEala ka*aA [ He is adapted, &c., for his doing such a thing; or worthy to do it ]; (S;) in which case, An is for biA^ano . (Mgh.) [And HaqiyqN bika*aA also signifies Having a right, or just title or claim, to such a thing; entitled to such a thing. ] It is said in the Kur [vii. 103], HaqiyqN EalaY A^ano laA A^aqowla EalaY A@ll~`hi A_il~aA AlHaq~a , meaning I am disposed [ not ] to say [ of God aught save ] the truth: or, as some say, I am vehemently desirous [ that I should not say &c.]; for, accord. to Aboo-'Alee, A^anaA HaqiyqN EalaY ka*aA means I am vehemently desirous of such a thing: but one reading, that of Náfi', is HaqiyqN EalaY~a A^ano laA A^aquwla , It is binding, or obligatory, or incumbent, on me [ that I should not say ].
