1 Haruma Hrm Hrmp , (S, Msb, K,) aor. Haruma , (K,) inf. n. HuromN (Msb, K) and HurumN (Msb) and HuromapN (IKoot, S, Msb) and HiromapN (IKoot, Msb) and HaraAmN , (Msb, K,) It (a thing, S, Msb) was, or became, forbidden, prohibited, or unlawful, (Msb,) Ealayohi to him. (S, K.) And Harumati AlS~alaApu , (S, Msb, K,) inf. n. HuromN (S, K) and HurumN (K,) and HuruwmN ; (Az, TA;) and Harimat , (S, Msb, K,) aor. Harama , inf. n. HaramN [in the CK Harom ] and HaraAmN ; (Msb, K, TA;) Prayer was, or became, forbidden, prohibited, or unlawful, (Msb,) EalayohaA to her; (T, S, K;) namely, a woman (T, S, K) menstruating. (S.) HarimN (S, Msb, K) and HiromN and HarimapN (K) and HiromapN and HiromaAnN (S, Msb, K) and HariymapN (S, K) and HariymN (K) and maHoramapN ; (Har p. 69;) and ↓ AHrmhu Al$y^ , (S, Msb, K,) but this last is of weak authority; (K;) He denied him, or refused him, the thing; (S, K;) he refused to give him the thing: (TA:) he rendered him hopeless of the thing: (PS:) accord. to the T, HiromN signifies the act of denying or refusing [a thing]; and HiromapN is the same as HiromaAnN ; (TA;) which signifies [also the denying, or refusing, a thing; or] the rendering unprosperous, or unfortunate; (KL;) [and frequently, as inf. n. of the pass. v. Hurima , the being denied prosperity; privation of prosperity; ill-fatedness: see its syn. HurofN .] -A3- Harimato , aor. Harama , inf. n. HiraAmN ; (K;) and ↓ AstHrmt ; (S, K;) said of a female cloven-hoofed animal, She desired the male: (S, K:) accord. to El-Umawee, (S,) likewise said of a she-wolf and of a bitch: (S, K:) and sometimes also said of a she-camel: but mostly of a ewe or she-goat. (TA.) -A4- Harima , aor. Harama , (S, K,) inf. n. HaramN , (S,) accord. to AZ and Ks, (S,) He was overcome in contending for stakes, or wagers, in a game of hazard, (S, K,) not having himself overcome therein. (K.) -A5- Also Harima , aor. Harama , (K,) inf. n. HaramN , (TA,) He persisted; or persisted obstinately; or persisted in contention, litigation, or wrangling; or he contended, litigated, or wrangled. (K.)

HuromN Hrm Hrmp The state of A_iHoraAm (Az, S, K) on account of the performance of the Haj~ or the Eumorap ; (Az, TA;) as also ↓ HiromN . (K in art. Hl . [See 4 in the present art.]) Hence the saying, faEalahu fiY Hul~ihi waHuromihi , and ↓ fiY Hil~ihi wa Hiromihi , He did it when he was free from AHrAm and when he was in the state of AHrAm . (K in art. Hl .) And hence the saying of 'Áïsheh, respecting Mohammad, kunotu A^uTay~ibuhu liHul~ihi waHuromihi , i. e. [ I used to perfume him when he was free from AHrAm and ] when he was in the state of AHrAm : (S, Msb: *) or when he became free from AHrAm and when he performed the ablution and desired to enter upon the state of AHrAm for the Haj~ or the Eumorap . (Az, TA.) [ Huromuka in copies of the K, explained as meaning nisaAw^uka wa maA taHomiY , is a mistranscription for Huramuka : see HuromapN .]

HiromN Hrm Hrmp : see HuromN , in two places. -A2- See also HaraAmN , in two places. ― -b2- wa HiromN EalaY qaroyapK A^aholakonaAhaA A^an~ahumo laA yarojiEuwna , (S, * K, * TA,) in the Kur [xxi. 95], (TA,) thus read by some, (S, TA,) means waAjibN [i. e. It is a necessary lot of the people of a town that we have destroyed that they shall not return ] (S, K, TA) to their present state of existence: (TA:) so explained by Ks, (S, TA,) and by I'Ab and Fr and Zj: (TA:) some read ↓ HaromN : (Bd:) the people of El-Medeeneh read ↓ HaraAmN ; meaning forbidden; and accord. to this reading and meaning, lA is redundant: (TA:) [or HaraAmN in this instance is syn. with waAjibN , like HiromN ; for it is said that] the explanation of Ks is confirmed by the saying of 'Abd-er-Rahmán Ibn-Jumáneh [in the TA HmAnp , app. for jumaAnap ,] ElMuháribee, a Jáhilee, laA A^araY Ald~ahora baAkiyFA ↓ faA_in~a HaraAmFA EalaY $ajowihi A_il~aA bakiytu EalaY EamorKw [ For it is a necessary thing that I should not ever see one weeping for his sorrow but I should weep for 'Amr ].
