qaraArN * : see 1, first signification. ― -b2- A state of settledness, fixedness, stability, establishment, quiet, stillness, rest, permanence, or continuance; (Msb, TA;) and so ↓ musotaqar~N , in the Kur, ii. 34, and vii. 23: (Bd, TA:) or in these two instances the latter is a n. of place. (Bd.) [Hence,] daAru AlqaraAri [Kur, xl. 42, The abode of stability; the permanent abode; i. e.,] the world to come. (TA, art. dwr ; &c.) -A2- [ A place, and a time, of settledness, fixedness, stability, establishment, quiet, stillness, rest, permanence, or continuance; a restingplace; ] i. q. ↓ musotaqar~N (TA) [ and ↓ maqar~N ] and ↓ qur~N . (S, M, K.) Exs. SaAra AlA^amoru A_ilaY qaraArihi , and ↓ musotaqar~ihi , [ The thing, or affair, came to its place, or time, of settledness, &c.; or the meaning may be, to its state of settledness, &c.; the explanation is] came to its end, and became settle, fixed, &c. (M, TA.) And lahaA ↓ waAl$~amosu tajoriY limusotaqar~K [Kur, xxxvi. 38,] And the sun runneth to a place, and time, beyond which it doth not pass: or to a term appointed for it: (TA:) or to a determined limit, where its revolution ends; likened to the mstqr~ of a traveller, when he ends his journey: or to the middle of the sky; for it there seems to pause: or to its state of settledness, &c., according to a special path: or to its appointed end in one of the different places of rising and setting which it has on different days: or to the end of its course, in the desolate part of the world: and accord. to other readings, laA musotaqar~a lahaA , and laA musotaqar~N lahaA , meaning, it has no rest; for it is always in motion. (Bd.) And ↓ likul~i nabaA_K musotaqar~N [Kur, vi. 66,] To every prophecy is a term [for its fulfilment], which ye shall see in the present world and in the world to come. (TA.) And Alr~aHimi ↓ maqar~u The extreme part of the womb; the resting-place ( musotaqar~ ) of the fœtus therein. (M, K.) It is said in the Kur, [vi. 98,] wamusotawodaEN ↓ famusotaqar~N , meaning, And ye have a resting-place in the womb, and a depository [ in the spermatic sources ] in the back: but some read wamusotawodaEN ↓ famusotaqir~N , meaning, and [there is] such as is yet remaining in the womb, or such as is established in the present world, in existence, and such as is deposited in the back, not yet created: or and there is of you such as remains among the living, and such as is deposited in the earth [ among the dead ]: (M, TA:) or such as hath been born and hath appeared upon the earth, and such as is in the womb: (Lth, TA:) or such as yet remains in the back, and such as is deposited in the womb. (TA.) You say also, A@lomuqad~asapa ↓ A^a*okaraniY A@lomaqaAr~a [ He, or it, reminded me of the consecrated places of abode: maqaAr~u is pl. of ↓ maqar~N ]. (TA.) And one says, on the occasion of a calamity befalling, ↓ SaAbato biqur~K , (S, Z, M, *) or ↓ waqaEato biqur~K , (K,) meaning, It (the calamity, Al$~id~apu , S) became [or fell ] in its qaraAr [or settled or fixed place, or in the place where it should remain: ] (S, K:) or the thing came to its qaraAr : (M:) or it fell in its place: (Z:) or it fell where it ought: (Th:) and sometimes they said ↓ waqaEato biqur~ihaA [ it fell in its settled or fixed place, &c.]: (S:) and waqaEa AlA^amoru ↓ biqur~ihi , i. e. ↓ bimusotaqar~ihi [ the thing fell in the place where it did, or should, rest, or remain ]: (As:) and one says to a man who seeks blood-revenge, when he meets the slayer of his relation, ↓ waqaEota biqur~ika thy heart has met that which it looked for. (TA.) ↓ laqado waqaEotu biqur~ika , and ↓ biquHaAHi qur~ika , also means I have become acquainted with all that thou knowest, nothing thereof being hidden from me. (Ibn-Buzurj, in TA, art. qH .)
