1. صَالٌّ

SaAl~N * : see SaloSaAlN , in two places. ― -b2- Also, [app. a part. n. used as a subst.,] Water that falls upon the ground, which then cracks, (O, K,) or, as in the L, which then dries ( fayayobasu fatajif~u [correctly fatayobasu fatajif~u , as referring to AlA^aroD , or rather fatayobasu watajif~u ]), causing a sound to be heard. (TA.)

2. صَالٍ

[ SaAlK * is expl. by Freytag as meaning Heated or warmed (“ calefactus ”), and burnt: and the pl. is said by him to be SuliY~N : but he names no authority: if this be correct, it must be a possessive epithet from SaliYa .]

3. صَالَ

1 SaAla * , aor. yaSiylu , i. q. SAl having for its aor. yaSuwlu , (Ibn-'Abbád, O, K,) i. e. He (a man) leaped or sprang [&c.]. (Ibn-'Abbád, O.) -A2- Siyla lahumo ka*aA , (S and K in art. Swl ,) or lahu , (Ibn- 'Abbád and O and K in the present art.,) Such a thing was appointed, or ordained, or prepared, for them, or for him. (Ibn-'Abbád, S, O, K.) This is its proper place. (TA.)
