سَخِطَ

1 saxiTa * , aor. saxaTa , inf. n. saxaTN (S, * Msb, K *) [and masoxaTN , (see suxoTN , below,)] He was, or became, displeased, or discontented; (S, * K, TA;) as also ↓ tsx~T ; (K, TA;) syns. kariha and takar~aha [the latter of which, app. referring particularly to ↓ tsx~T , properly and generally signifies, when intrans., he expressed, or showed, dislike, displeasure, disapprobation, discontent, or hatred ]: (TA:) he was, or became, angry; (S, Msb, TA;) and ↓ tsx~T signifies the same; or he became angered; syn. tagaD~aba . (TA.) You say, saxiTa Ealayohi [ He was, or became, displeased, or discontented, or angry, with him ]. (Kur v. 83.) And saxiTahu He was, or became, displeased, or discontented, with him; as also ↓ tsx~Thu ; both expl. by lamo yaroDa bihi ; (Ham p. 502;) and the latter by takar~ahahu [which signifies as above, like karihahu , and also he expressed, or showed, dislike of it, displeasure with it, disapprobation of it, discontent with it, or hatred of it ]; (K, TA;) and lamo yaroDahu ; (TA;) as in the saying, ↓ kul~amaA Eamilotu lahu EamalFA tasax~aTahu [ Every time that I did for him a deed, he expressed, or showed, dislike of it, &c.]; and in like manner, ↓ A^aEoTaAhu qaliylFA fatasax~aTahu [ He gave him little and he expressed, or showed, dislike of it, &c.]: (TA:) and [hence,] EaTaA='ahu ↓ tasax~aTa He deemed his gift little, and it did not stand with him in any stead; expl. by Aisotaqal~ahu walamo yaqaEo minohu mawoqiEFA . (S, K.) You say also, Aall~`hu yasoxaTu lakumo ka*aA , meaning God forbiddeth you such a thing: or will punish you for such a thing: or it may refer to the desire of punishing for it. (TA.)
