5 taqad~ama * He was, or became, or went, before, or ahead; preceded; had, or took, precedence; contr. of taA^ax~ara , q. v. See 1. ― -b2- taqad~ama A_ilaY AlHaAy^iTi He drew near, or approached, to the wall. (Msb.) ― -b3- taqad~ama He advanced; went forward, or onward. (L, art. qwd .) ― -b4- taqad~ama EalaY AlHaq~i : see Bd, xviii. 27. ― -b5- taqad~ama He became advanced, or promoted. ― -b6- taqad~ama minohu kalAamN : see faraTa : but the primary meaning is, Speech proceeded from him previously. ― -b7- taqad~ama EalaY gayorihi quasi-pass. of qad~amahu EalaY gayorihi ; He, or it, was, or became, before, or had precedence of, another, in time: and in place; i. e. he, or it, was, or became, before another; preceded another; went before another: and in rank, or dignity; i. e. he, or it, was, or became, preferred before another; or honoured, or esteemed, above another: in all these senses like taqad~ama gayorahu . See bak~ara . ― -b8- taqad~ama fiY A^amorK [ He was forward in an affair ] qabola fiEolihi [ before doing it ]. A^xr .) ― -b10- taqad~ama A_ilayohi fiY ka*aA , (K,) or bika*aA , (Msb,) or both, (Mgh,) He commanded, ordered, bade, charged, or enjoined, him respecting, or to do, such a thing; (Mgh, Msb, K;) as also ↓ qad~ama , inf. n. taqodiymN . (Msb.)
