Tay~ibN * (S, M, Mgh, O, Msb, K) and ↓ TaAbN , (S, M, O, K,) the latter originally TaAy^ibN and deprived of its medial radical letter, or of the measure faEalN , (M, TA,) Contr. of xabiyvN , (S, Mgh, O,) in two senses: (Mgh:) [i. e. good, ] pleasant, delightful, delicious, sweet, or savoury; syn. la*iy*N ; (Msb, K; *) or esteemed [ good, ] pleasant, delightful, delicious, sweet, or savoury, ( musotala*~N ,) in taste, and in odour: (Mgh:) and pure, (Mgh, K,) or clean. (Mgh.) You say TaEaAmN Tay~ibN Food [ pleasant in taste; or] that descends easily [ and agreeably ] down the throat. (TA.) And maA='N Tay~ibN Sweet water; (O, TA;) or pure water. (TA.) [And raAy^iHapN Tay~ibapN A pleasant, sweet, or fragrant, odour. ] And baladN Tay~ibN A country that has no salsuginous places in it: (O, TA:) or a land of good and fertile soil. (Mgh.) And SaEiydN Tay~ibN Pure ground. (Zj, Mgh, O.) And Alkalimu AlT~ay~ibu (assumed tropical:) [ The good saying ] i. e. laA A_il`ha A_il~aA A@ll~`hu [ There is no deity but God ]. (TA.) And fulaAnN fiY bayotK Tay~ibK i. e. (tropical:) [ Such a one is of a good house, or family; meaning,] of high, or noble, birth. (TA.) And fulaAnN Tay~ibu AlA_izaAri (assumed tropical:) Such a one is continent, or chaste. (O.) And fulaAnN Tay~ibu AlA^axolaAqi (assumed tropical:) Such a one is [ of good, or pleasant, dispositions; ] easy in converse, conversable, or affable. (O, TA.)
