δίεμαι [v.] trans. ‘to hunt, pursue’ in δίεσθαι (M 276, etc.), intrans. ‘to run’ in Sievtat (Y¥ 475) and δίεσθαι (M 304). «Ὁ» VAR Subj. δίωμαι, dintat, δίωνται (O 681, etc.), opt. δίοιτο (p 317); act. évdieoav (see DELG). Active preterite forms diov ‘T fled’ (X 251; on die see Chantraine 1942: 388), ἐνδίεσαν ‘they pursued’ (2 584); note περὶ yap die (E 566, etc.) ‘he was afraid’, see below.
