μώλυζα [f.] name of a kind of garlic (Ηρ... *ETYM Related to μῶλυ with the same ending as in κόνυζα, ὄρυζα, ῥίζα, etc. See also André RPh. 84 (1958): 235. As the ending can hardly be explained in Indo-European terms, it must be Pre-Greek. It could represent /-dYa/ or /-t’a/. — [Beekes, s.v. μώλυζα, p. 1041]
