LSJ — Liddell, Scott, Jones, A Greek-English Lexicon · Layer Bopen lexicon
ψυχή, ἡ — soul, spirit, the breath of life, the immaterial and immortal soul, the seat of feelings, desires, affections, the conscious self or personality.
In Homer, the soul is the breath that leaves the body at death and goes to Hades; only later (with Plato and onward) is it the rational, immortal seat of the person.
