VAR Accentuation after Hdn. Gr. 1, 33; the mss. mostly have -ἔμων. *ETYM The old etymology with ἄκρος is improbable, as the formation is unclear (see Chantraine 1933: 172f.). It is most improbable that κρεμών (Eratosth.) is due to » κρεμάννυμι.
