ἀλίγκιος [adj.] ‘like, resembling’ (Il.). «Ὁ» eVAR More frequent is ἐναλίγκιος, *ETYM Unexplained. The comparison with OCS lice ‘face, cheek’ etc. is uncertain. The a- has been interpreted as the zero grade of év-, but this is not likely. See Beekes 1969: 25ff. contra Seiler KZ 75 (1957): 11-16. ἀλίγκιος, -ov: «semblable à» (ZI. 6,401, Od. 8,174, Emp. 23,5, Æsch. Pr. 449). Le composé ἐναλίγκιος (Hom., poètes) est plus fréquent, — 61 — εις ἅλις le préverbe ἐν y marque la permanence et prend ainsi une valeur de renforcement (οἵ. Schwyzer, Gr. ἀλίγκιος "gleich, ähnlich’ (ep. poet.). Unerklärt. Der Vergleich mit aksl.lice “Gesicht, Wange’ und anderen slavischen Wörtern (8. Bq) ist willkürlich, vgl. WP. 2, 399. Gewöhnlicher als dAiyxıos ist das ebenfalls poetische ἐναλίγκιος, dessen genaues Verhältnis zum „Simplex‘“ sich nicht feststellen läßt; vgl.
