Gr. 1967, 814 sq.) ce qui pourrait conduire à tirer le mot non de δέμω, mais de δόμος avec une suffixation en - ὃ comme dans ἑκατόμθη. Peut-on rapprocher la glose d’Hsch. μεσόδμα " γύνη «ὡς Adxwvec>?
