II summon, send for, to be sent for
mostly in Med., μεταπέμπεσθαί τινα summon, Hdt. 1.41, al., Ar. Ach. 1087, al., Antipho 1.15, etc.; of things, send for, σῖτον OGI 56.17 (Canopus, iii B.C.), etc.: Th. uses Act. and Med. indifferently, cf. 1.112, 4.30, 6.52, with 2.29, 5.82:—Pass., μεταπεμφθῆναι to be sent for, D. 28.14, cf. Pl. Prt. 319b; ἐξ Ἀθηνῶν μεταπεπέμφθαι Phld. Mus. p.28 K.
