1. ὀκρυόεις · okryoeis — Beekes

ὀκρυόεις [adj.] ‘morbid, spooky, ghastly’ (Z 344,164, A. R., AP). «ΘᾺ» eETYM Arose from κρυόεις by false separation in the genitives ἐπιδημίοο KPVOEVTOG (I 64) and κακομηχάνοο κρυοέσσης (Z 344); see Leumann 1950: 49f. The phonetically close ὀκριόεις may have been an influence (Ruijgh 1957: 103). — [Beekes, s.v. ὀκρυόεις, p. 1117]

2. ὀκρυόεις · okryoeis — Chantraine

ὀκρυόεις ? «qui fait frissonner, horrible» (II. 6,344 ; 9,64, A.R., AP), issu par fausse coupe de ἐπιδημίοο χρυόεντος ; toutefois la forme ὀχρυόεις a dû s'imposer de bonne heure aux aèdes et M. Leumann pense que 11. 6,344 κακομηχάνου ὀκρυοέσσης est authentique. Voir Leumann, Hom. Wôrier 49 sq. Il est possible que ὀκριόεις ait aidé à la création de la forme nouvelle; cf. Ruijgh, Élément achéen 103. — [Chantraine, s.v. ὀκρυόεις, p. 807]
