ὁπλότερος, -τατος [adj.] ‘junior, youngest’ always of persons, also applied to women (Il.). *ETYM Oppositional formation in -tepoc, like κουρότερος, aypdtepoc, and ὀρέστερος. According to a remarkable interpretation from antiquity, it properly means ‘able to wear arms, sturdy’, as opposed to the γέροντες.
