σκολόπενδρα : f. «scolopendre, mille-pattes » (Arist. H.A. 489 b, etc.); aussi nom d'un animal marin (Arist. H.A. 505 Ὁ, etc.), p.-ê. une espèce de néréide; d’où σκολόπενδρον n. (Thphr.), -cov ἢ. (Dsc.) — ἄσπληνος « doradille », ainsi nommée à cause de la forme des feuilles selon Strômberg, Pflanzennamen 42 ; adj. σκολοπενδρώδης « qui ressemble à la scolopendre » (Str.). σκολόπενδρα f. "Tausendfuß, Assel’, auch N. eines Seetieres (Arist. usw.). Davon σκολόπενδρ-ον (Thphr.), -ἰον (Dsk.) n. Pflanzennamen (wegen der Form der Blätter; Strömberg Pfl. 42), -Söng “einer σ. ähnlich’ (Str.). — Fremdwort ohne Etymologie. Das betreffende Tier wird bei Thphr.
