Act. first in later Ep. (Hom. using only τερσαίνω), aor. subj. τέρσῃ (-σει codd.) Theoc. 22.63; inf. τέρσαι Nic. Th. 96, 693 (v.l. τέρσον both times); opt. Med. τέρσαιο ib. 709:—Hsch. cites ἐτέρρατο· ἐξηράνθη. (Cf. Lat. torreo, tostus, Skt. tŕṛṣyati ‘to be thirsty’.)
