writing-copy, pattern, model, outline, LXX 2 Ma. 2.28, 1 Ep.Pet. 2.21; ὑ. παιδικοί copy-heads for children, containing all the letters of the alphabet, of which three forms have been preserved by Clem.Al. Strom. 5.8.49, 48—μάρπτε σφὶγξ κλὼψ ζβυχθηδόν, βέδυ ζὰψ χθὼμ πλῆκτρον σφίγξ, and κναξζβὶ χθύπτης φλεγμὼ δρόψ, which last was wrongly ascribed to Thespis (Fr. 4).
